“O-Ton” der Academia Tica Sprachschule in Costa Rica zur Lage vor Ort:
Regarding Swine Flu
Costa Rican Health authorities took sanitary measures several weeks ago to prevent swine flu from crossing our borders, for this reason students that are interested in visiting Costa Rica need not to worry.
As it is known, among all Latin American countries, Costa Rica is second only to Cuba when it comes to it?s Public Health System, which covers 100% of its population.
Most of the people have access to radio and TV with a literacy level that allows them to read and understand health alerts and information campaigns and in general the hygiene level in Costa Rica is very good.
We regret the situation that our Mexican friends are going through right now and wish that this epidemic is put under control very soon.

Unsere Partnerschule aus Cambridge zur Lage vor Ort:
The instances of Swine Flu found in the UK have been isolated cases of individuals returning from Mexico, that have all been successfully treated. The UK is extremely well prepared to handle such medical situations and there is a high level of confidence that this situation will continue to be well contained and controlled.
UK government representatives have issued statements stating that it is safe to travel. Study Group UK is committed to maintaining the health & safety of its staff and students and in light of the current situation it is taking every precaution to ensure that there is no health risk in our schools.
Our school staff are now being extremely vigilant with all cases of student illness.
Any student reporting flu symptoms will be referred to a doctor and will not be allowed to return to school without first being cleared.
Our students will be reminded of the importance of cleanliness as a means of preventing infection. Mexican students are currently deferring their study visits to us in the UK.
